1. Rights in SAMI's materials
SAMI-SM MCHJ and its licensors hold the relevant rights in original website and portal design, software, text, graphics, Samiko artwork, branding, templates and other protected material. University names, logos, photographs, accreditation marks, licensed assets and open-source components can belong to their respective owners. Their presence does not transfer ownership to SAMI or to a portal user.
This notice applies alongside any licence supplied with a particular download, asset or software component. It does not claim ownership of facts, public information, another organisation's documents, or your original material.
2. What you may use
You may read, share links to, and make reasonable personal copies of public information for researching your own study options. You may download your own records and documents made available to you through an authorised account. Preserve source and rights notices and do not present modified material as an official SAMI or institution document.
Statutory exceptions and permissions under an applicable licence remain available. For commercial republication, sale of SAMI materials, use of branding in a campaign, redistribution of templates, or another use beyond those permissions, obtain permission from the relevant rights holder first.
Agents and partners may use supplied promotional materials only within the licence or relationship agreed with SAMI and the institution concerned. Portal access or a listing does not permit someone to describe themselves as an exclusive or officially appointed representative without the actual authority.
3. Your documents and content
You retain your rights in documents, photographs, testimonials and other content you provide. You must have the right to provide them and must not upload another person's work or records without the necessary authority.
For a requested service, you give SAMI a limited permission to receive, store, copy, format, translate where agreed, and transmit the relevant material to carry out that service, operate the authorised portal workflow, and keep necessary records. Technical suppliers may handle it for those purposes. This is not a transfer of ownership, a general right to sell your documents, or permission to publish private files.
Where expressly presented and validly accepted at registration, public-use permission covers the materials and channels identified there and in the Privacy Policy. It is limited to that purpose and subject to the stated withdrawal process and any required guardian authority. Confidential applications, private messages and identity or financial documents do not become promotional content simply because they are uploaded.
When you intentionally submit a testimonial for public use, SAMI may make reasonable formatting or spelling edits that preserve its meaning. A material alteration, invented endorsement or public use beyond the agreed scope needs further permission. If you do not own an image or other element within a story, your registration cannot grant rights that belong to someone else.
4. Misuse
Do not copy private portal databases, bypass access restrictions, remove ownership notices, distribute forged certificates or letters, impersonate SAMI or an institution, or use protected material in a way that infringes rights. Do not republish another student's photograph or records merely because they appear in an authorised workflow.
A QR code, portal status or document template must not be altered to imply an approval, attendance, payment, qualification or institutional relationship that does not exist. Security or research activity must respect applicable law and the Portal User Agreement.
5. Reporting a rights concern
Email info@sami.uz with “Copyright” or “Intellectual property” in the subject. Identify the work or right concerned, the exact SAMI page or file, why you believe the use is unauthorised, your authority to raise the issue, and safe contact details. Include the relevant evidence or original source without sending unrelated private records.
We will assess the report and may ask for clarification, restrict disputed material while reviewing it, contact the uploader, correct attribution or remove material where appropriate. We may share the substance of a report with the person who supplied the material where necessary for a fair response, limiting unnecessary personal information.
If your material was removed and you believe the decision was mistaken, reply with the relevant ownership, licence or permission evidence and ask for review. This is SAMI's reporting process, not a claim that a particular foreign statutory notice procedure applies to every case.
6. Complaints and privacy
Copyright permission and privacy permission are different. Ownership of a photograph does not necessarily authorise publication of another person's private information. To stop use of your student photo or story, use the Privacy Policy's withdrawal route even if you do not own copyright in the photograph.
For an unresolved decision, use the Complaints Procedure. This notice does not limit a rights holder's access to a competent authority or court.
